A CDPAP ADVOCACY ORGANIZATION

After 20-years of nurturing a large Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) in New York City, the program and its participants have taught me a great deal about the unique nature of this home care delivery system. To promote the expansion of the Consumer Directed philosophy, I have prepared this web site, the statement entitled CDPAP - Fundamentals, the RESOURCES section, and a FREE bridge between CONSUMERS and EMPLOYMENT SERVICES.

Your e-mail address will neither be sold nor shared with any other organization. Also, to promote the safe transmission of e-mails, Consumer Directed Services will only forward "flat" e-mail files, attachments will never be included in a Consumer Directed Services transmission. If Consumer Directed Services needs to forward a large file to network members it will be sent as a link to a page that have been safely posted on the Consumer Directed Services web site.
RESOURCES: This portion of the web site contains a useful collection of links to CDPAP or related organizations, and links to CDPAP related documents. The selected documents were included because they outline the program's history, provide information about program alternatives, offer a scientific assessment of the program, and direct the reader to related topics that may prove useful to a Consumer or a Program Organizer.

The next two services are designed to establish a BRIDGE beween CONSUMERS and EMPLOYMENT SERVICES. In each case the parties have information which is of little value until it is exchanged. Consumers have jobs they need to fill and Employment Services have potential employees they are trying to place. To enable Consumers to INDEPENDENTLY manage their homes, this service, which can efficiently permit the EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION, is being offered as a an impartial referral service.

CONSUMERS: To assist New York Metro Area Consumers with one of the core responsibilities, Consumer Directed Services has developed this service to enable you to quickly and inexpensively send your information to participating Employment Services.

To promote the building of networks and the exchange of information, this service is FREE to all interested Consumers.

EMPLOYMENT SERVICES: This program will enable your service to receive New York Metro Area Consumer generated employment opportunities and information about the fee structures the Consumers are willing to work with.

To encourage the growth of these networks, network memberships are being offered without an Annual Enrollment Fee.
